Ron Birmingham

Born and raised in the small town of Pasadena, Newfoundland, I learned the importance of building lasting relationships based on trust at a young age. Throughout my youth I was competitively involved in sports at the local, provincial and national levels. Those opportunities helped expose me to the values of teamwork, communication, respect, and discipline; life skills that I still draw on daily in my business and personal life.

I moved to Halifax in 1995 to attend Dalhousie University, where I played varsity volleyball for the Tigers in 1995-96 and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology in 1999. After going back to school in 2000, I completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Applied Information Technology and spent almost two years working for a large family owned insurance brokerage in the Greater Toronto Area. In 2002, I settled back in Halifax once again. 

I purchased my first home in 2003 and that process triggered my interest in real estate as a career choice. Since obtaining my real estate license in 2003 I have been fortunate to help hundreds of families, from various provinces and countries, establish or re-establish roots in Halifax. In 2010 I became a co-founder and partner in Keller Williams Select Realty, the first Canadian Keller Williams franchise east of Ontario. Since that time, Keller Williams Select Realty has become one of the largest and most successful real estate companies in Atlantic Canada with more than 250 sales associates and over 30,000 homes sold. In the fall of 2014, my wife Tina, our daughter Mallory, and I decided to move "home" to Newfoundland to pursue further career opportunities and be closer to our families. Since that time we have welcomed our second daughter Noelle and most recently, a Miniature Bernadoodle named Zulu, to the family.

In 2016 I launched a satelite office of Keller Williams in St. John's with my business partner, Tom Clift, and later received approval for a second franchise, Keller Williams Platinum Realty, in July of 2017. No longer active in sales, today I have the extreme pleasure of being the Operating Principal for Keller Williams in Newfoundland, where I focus my efforts on working with agents to build their businesses and achieve their own goals. 

In less than 10 short years Keller Williams has grown to almost 100 associates all across Newfoundland and Labrador and in 2025 sold more properties than any other brokerage office in the province.
